Been a minute since our last post but we are back with a new adventure 🙂
We took to the road mainly to explore Murang’a scenery.Road trips have always been our way to experience the great scenery Kenya has to offer.This is much more interesting than just flying to the destination.
Words cannot fully express the trip itself; but here is a gallery to give you a quick insight on our trip.
We stumbled upon many roadside markets on our way to Murang’a,mainly selling bananas and avocados.The funny part was the pricing was on the higher side compared to Nairobi 😦
Our Road trip essentials;

- Swimming costumes
- Sun glasses,hat and sunscreen
- Picnic blanket
- Car essentials;good music,phone charger/power bank,torch,wet wipes,toilet paper

We made a quick stop at Stanley’s Haven; a holiday resort located in Mukuyu ,Murang’a County. After all the driving and sightseeing,we were in dire need of a refreshing swim and this resort came highly recommended by the locals.
Private: Get on the A2 (Thika super highway) from Nairobi drive for 42 km, branch on the left to C71 (Kenol-Murang’a Highway) and drive for 29 km. Co-ordinates for exact location of Stanley’s haven (-0.7316542,37.1522913)
Public:Take a matatu to Murang’a (Fare 200-250/=),alight at Mukuyu, board a bodaboda (50/=) to Stanley’s haven .
Once we got to Stanley’s, we were warmly welcomed by the gate man who directed us to the car park and handed us over to the receptionist-a very helpful and polite lady.We must say the general service at Stanley’s Haven was impeccable.The swimming pool was large with a baby pool adjacent to it.The supply of big clean and fluffy towels was equally delightful.We parted with 300/= per person for a swim.
This countryside resort was a sight for sore eyes,from the lush gardens and tranquility to the breathtaking landscapes surrounding it.Stanley’s won our hearts.
The resort has a well thought out section dubbed kids’ corner, a play site fitted with modern kids play paradise .
Stanley’s Haven was a breath of fresh air from the city.
